Tu es en train de finir ton année d’IUT et vient la question de la poursuite d’étude ou de commencer la vie active, que faire ?
D’après mon expérience, les IUT procurent une excellente formation pratique / théorique qui permettent d’avoir une vision plus pratique des différents cours. Dans cet article je vais vous donner quelques conseils d’après mon retour d’expérience.
Après la terminale S, je n’ai pas été pris en classe prépa (heureusement 🙂 ) et donc mon choix s’est porté sur l’IUT GEII pas très loin de chez moi. Bien sûr les professeurs de Terminale vous poussent vers la classe prépa qui est d’aprés tout ce que vous pouvez lire/entendre la voie royale pour réussir vos études, mais j’y reviendrai un peu plus tard.
Pendant mes deux années à l’IUT, j’ai pu améliorer mes connaissances dans de nombreux domaines, mais ce qui m’a le plus plu est l’informatique. Du coup voulant continuer dans cette voie, j’ai envoyé plusieurs dossiers à des écoles d’ingénieur en informatique. Si vous voulez être sur d’être pris en école d’ingénieur aprés l’IUT je vous conseille de terminer dans le top 10 de la promo, de ne pas hésiter à demander à vos profs d’écrire des lettres de recommandation et de bien suivre que votre dossier soit arrivé et qu’il ne manque aucune pièce. Cela montrera également votre sérieux.
Ceci m’a permis d’être accepté à Polytech’Nice sur Sophia-Antipolis (Antibes 06), une bonne école d’ingénieur et qui a l’énorme avantage de se trouver dans la technopole de Sophia-Antipolis, où sincèrement vous ne manquerez jamais de travail avec également le ski à 1h15 et la mer à 20 mn 🙂
Durant l’école, la composition des classes était environ de 1/3 prépa, 1/3 fac, 1/3 IUT comme quoi il n’est pas obligatoire de faire une prépa pour faire une école d’ingénieur. Les IUT informatiques étaient bien sûr très nombreux, et ont tous particulièrement bien réussi leurs 3 années à l’école.
Si vous souhaitez donc devenir ingénieur en informatique, il n’est pas nécessaire que vous vous orientez obligatoirement vers une classe Prépa.
Concernant les autres choix que vous propose l’IUT si vous voulez plutôt faire un cycle court la licence est un bon choix, je vous conseille particulièrement la solution de l’apprentissage qui vous permettra de travailler et de finir vos études.
Concernant les salaires, il faut également prendre en compte que vous n’entrerez pas au même salaire en sortant d’un BAC +3 qu’avec un BAC +5. Dans l’informatique un BAC+3 commencera (selon la région) de 1300€ à 1600€ et un bac +5 de 1700€ à 2000€ avec une progression plus rapide. Sachez également que les grandes SSII vont très largement favoriser les BAC +5 et qu’il vous sera quasiment obligatoire de faire une validation des acquis professionnels si vous voulez avoir une évolution de carrière.

L’article date de 2012 mais le niveau de salaire n’a pas tant bougé. Je parlais en net dans mon article, pour un ingé le salaire de sortie tourne entre 32k€ et 36k€ brut en fonction des spécialités et des régions.
